SportQuest set to offer two sports camps at the end of July

July 17, 2013
SportQuest is returning with a team of Christian coaches from around the nation to offer instruction in basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

This year, SportQuest will be offering two separate camps.

The first is the SportQuest Multi-Sport Camp for ages 6–11. The camp will run from 9 a.m.–noon from July 29–Aug. 2 and will be held at the Valley Center Elementary School. The cost is only $35 for the week thanks to the support of Valley Center Community Church.

This camp will be very similar to the camp the group held last year. Participants will choose two sports daily, Monday–Thursday, and then choose one sport on Friday for tournament day.

The second is SportQuest Camp for ages 12–18, and also runs from July 29–Aug. 2. Most of the camp will be held at Valley Center Middle School, with the exception of the tennis program, which will take place at Adams Park.

Once again, the cost is only $35 for the week thanks to the support of Valley Center Community Church.

This year, SportQuest is trying something new for athletes in the older age group who are looking to learn a new sport or who are looking to take their game to the next level. Participants will choose one of the four sports offered and receive training according to their ability from our coaching staff.

Please send a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, appropriate sports attire, and tennis racquet (if available). SportQuest will provide water and snacks at break time. In addition to sports instruction, the SportQuest team may perform dramas, share testimonies, teach and encourage a positive characteristic each day, and award prizes at the end of each day of camp based on who is displaying that characteristic as they compete.

On Friday evening, there will be an end of camp awards banquet, SportQuest Night, where participants and their families are invited to join the SportQuest team at the Valley Center Community Church park on Cole Grade Road.

There will be games set up for the kids, food, drinks and a one-hour ceremony highlighting the events of the week and awarding the participants who are truly "Playing with Purpose."
