Celebrating the baptism of the Lord- Jesus did not need a rebirth since He was from all eternity the only begotten child of God. He had no original sin to be cleansed from. But Jesus did need initiation. Being human, Jesus needed to associate and to identify with the community of men and women who were dedicated to promoting the cause of the kingdom of God.
This week we have the Knights serving breakfast for our Confirmation candidates, Middle School youth meet, then the Rosary and Divine Mercy Devotions, Faith Formation for all youth, RCIA, RCiC and RCIA in Spanish, A new Bible Study on the Book of Acts, Mass and Confession, CMF on Saturday at 7 a.m., Spanish Faith Formation, St. Vincent pantry, and Youth Social Nite Outdoor Movie Theater.
High School Social Nites begin with an outdoor movie double feature and bon-fire in our new amphitheater on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 7:p.m. Bring a lawn chair and snack to share. Saturday, Feb.1 at 10 p.m. is Broomball at Escondido Ice-O-Plex.
The Boy's Second Year Confirmation Retreat is coming Jan. 24 to Jan. 26, 2014.
The Girl's Retreat will be Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
Seventh-day Adventist Church, preaching the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Sabbath (Saturday) services will begin with Bible study classes at 9:30 a.m. for all ages. The adult lesson is entitled, "Discipleship and Prayer," continuing our quarter's studies on "Discipleship." Lessons are available by looking up "ssnet.org" online. The sermon will be presented by John Dyson. Sermons are posted on our website which can be located at sdavalleycenter.net. A fellowship meal will be served after the church service. Sunday there will be singing at 10:00 a.m. at the Villas Convalescent Center in Escondido. All are invited. Valley Center Community Church
VCCC is a vibrant, gospel driven and Christ-centered community church. We offer two Sunday morning worship services at 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Our Sunday morning services are held at the Maxine Theater, located on the Valley Center High School campus.
