Ashes to go for Ash Wednesday

March 12, 2014
Last year congregations, ecumenical groups, and other Christian organizations across the United States and beyond took to the street corners, transit stops, shopping centers and campuses to offer ashes and prayer to God's people where they live and work.

Last week, Father Steven Schuneman, the Priest-in-Charge of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Pauma Valley, provided "Ashes to Go" at the Pauma Valley Community Center. Patients of the Neighborhood Healthcare clinic and other members of the community received their ashes in an outdoor setting. The church also held traditional Ash Wednesday services for its members.

Sunday worship will continue throughout Lent Sunday mornings at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Fr. Schuneman will be speaking about the Ten Commandments during his Lenten sermons. St. Francis Episcopal Church is located at 16608 Highway 76 in Pauma Valley.
