Valleyites celebrate July 4 at annual fireworks show

Local photographer Lenny Kerb got these shots of Thursday night's fireworks show from the north end of the former Konyn Dairy. More than a thousand local residents saw the show from next to the John Belanich property, with many thousands seeing them from vantage points throughout the town.

Another successful fireworks show went off without a hitch on Thursday night, with the audience at the VC Ballfields and the fireworks shot off from the adjacent property of John Belanich. It's hard to estimate how many people enjoyed the fireworks, but it must have been over a thousand at the ballfields and many more watching from nearby homes.

Fireworks organizer Kelly Crews called last Thursday's event, "the best every with a spectacular grand finale! Plus the quickest departure from the viewing grounds in the history of the event thanks to the California Highway Patrol Explorers."

She added, "We are so grateful to the many, many people who make the event possible year after year. The list keeps growing. Please find the names of all our supporters in the Valley View advertisement in this week's paper and thank them personally for all their efforts in making this celebration a part of Valley Center life."
