ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

The Dos Valles Garden Club will hold its annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, March 15th, at 10 a.m. at the Valley Center Library. Please join us for musical selections by Riley McCarrick, flutist, and a memorial redbud tree planting for Jim Bathgate, long-term member of the Garden Club, who passed away earlier this year. Light refreshments will be served.

HANDWEAVERS GUILD MEETING

The topic at Palomar Handweavers' Guild's March 10 meeting is "All things Rigid Heddle". There will be discussion and demonstrations of weaving on Rigid Heddle looms, with a mini-workshop of "hands-on" weaving in the afternoon. The meeting is free to all and is from 9:30 to noon, with the mini-workshop from noon to 3pm.

FREE EVENT

On Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. Valley Center Community Church will be hosting a free event entitled "Creation / Evolution & the Authority of Scripture" with guest speaker Jay Seegert. Seegert is an author and international speaker, and also co-founder of the Creation Education Center. He has degrees in Physics and Engineering and has been lecturing on the authority of Scripture for over 28 years. Some of the topics he will be addressing include why do most scientists believe in evolution? Has evolution been scientifically proven? Can we really take Genesis seriously? What should we teach our children? Is the Bible outdated & old-fashioned? All are welcome to attend. Valley Center Community Church is located at 29105 Valley Center Road, Valley Center. ART SHOW

Lilac School's FAVE (Fine Arts Volunteer Educators) Art program is planning its second FAVE Family Art Night scheduled for Friday, May 16. The event will feature live music, food, a large student art exhibit, an auction of class projects, and guest artists. Local artists are invited to share their talents with students during the event which is open to the community. FAVE is also looking for donations for the silent auction to be held during the event.
