DID YOU KNOW

That the Valley Center library has a used book store inside, with books to fill your shelves? Staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Valley Center Library. Most books cost one to two dollars, and all proceeds go to the library for the purchase of new books for the library shelves.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

Support our youth and come join us for the 9th Annual Valley Center Real Estate Professionals Scholarship Golf Tournament May 2 at Woods Valley Golf Course. In the last eight years, the fun event has provided over $100,000 in scholarships to VCHS graduating seniors. Please participate and help our local scholars: come golf in the tournament, provide sponsorship, or an item to be auctioned off. New this year, win a new car of $25,000 for a hole in one on one of the four par 3s (golf professionals are not eligible). VINEYARD SEMINAR

Dr. David Bridgeman, co-owner and Head Wine Maker of 2 Plank Vineyards will be discussing the benefits of owning your own vineyard, vineyard installation and maintenance during a Free Vineyard Seminar on Saturday, may 17 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Grangettos Valley Center Store located at 29219 Juba Road in Valley Center. Bridgeman will also discuss grape varieties for the San Diego area, cost of installation, water requirements, vineyard design and the San Diego Tiered Winery ordinance. PLANT & RUMMAGE SALE

The Dos Valles Garden Club will hold a Plant & Rummage Sale April 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Martin Gang Ranch, 28933 Cole Grade Road, Valley Center. The sale will feature several varieties of local plants to buy, including heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, hot peppers, herbs, trees, California natives, succulent gardens, and salad bowls. Free refreshments will be served. Rummage Sale Treasures are abound. Proceeds go to local scholarship programs and community activities.
