Support our youth and come join to the 9th Annual Valley Center Real Estate Professionals Scholarship Golf Tournament May 2 at Woods Valley Golf Course. In the last eight years, the fun event has provided over $100,000 in scholarships to VCHS graduating seniors. Please participate and help local scholars: come golf in the tournament, provide sponsorship, or an item to be auctioned off. New this year, win a new car of $25,000 for a hole in one on one of the four par 3s (golf professionals are not eligible). Lilac School's FAVE (Fine Arts Volunteer Educators) Art program is planning its second FAVE Family Art Night scheduled for May 16. The event will feature live music, food, a large student art exhibit, an auction of class projects, and guest artists. Local artists are invited to share their talents with students during the event which is open to the community. FAVE is also looking for donations for the silent auction to be held during the event. SATURDAY CONCERT SERIES
Escondido Public Library's 2nd Saturday Concert Series presents the San Diego Chorus on May 10 at 3 p.m. in the Turrentine Room. The San Diego Chorus has been entertaining audiences with their vocal excellence, energy, and dazzling show performances for over 60 years. The Chorus is made up of women from all over San Diego County, ranging in age from 14 to 80 years and are part of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide society of women who sing four-part, acapella harmony barbershop style. Their repertoire is American music in many styles and from many eras. Second Saturday Concerts are free and generously sponsored by the Friends of Escondido Public Library.
