May 07, 2014Hi, this is Molly! Today I will write about school, shout outs, pigs, facts about flamingos, an inspiring quote, and goals.
In class, we took our Smarter Balance test. My opinion is that the test is better than the C.S.T., because not only is it shorter, but if you love to write then this test is definitely the test for you. In the English Arts test, you get to write your own story. It is awesome. Also, you can do this test in an hour and a half. I remember on one of the math test it was only six questions long. Guess what? The test scores don't even get sent out to anyone except the state. The state looks at your scores to see what questions are too hard and too easy. So, I guess it is what you call a test test.
Besides testing, we just did a whole bunch of reviewing of math and social studies. I know that you do not hear the word Social Studies very often. We are learning about the 50 states and capitols. We are also learning about the elements of life with our table groups. Our table group two picked the BCNO family. BCNO is used in soap, scuba gear, bombs, and more. I will have more information next week.
My shout outs go to Country Cuts and my brother Luke. I am giving a shout out to Country Cuts for their great service with cutting our hair and finding me a new hairdo on such a short notice. They also allowed my sisters, Madeline and Olivia, to help shampoo Mrs. Rose Politos' hair and mine too. I would also love to give a shout out to my brother because he made his first holy communion! Go Luke! He feels like he is the boss.
My pigs are doing amazing! They are eating and eating and eating. Gosh, I cannot explain how much they eat. Although probably like any typical pig, they are not eating as much in the heat. But, let me tell you, when it cools down at night, they eat like they have never been fed before. But do not worry, I do feed them. Also, I will only be writing about my pigs once every two weeks because I end up saying the same thing over and over again.
Here are some facts about flamingos:
1. Flamingos can fly up to 35 miles per hour.
2. Baby flamingos do not come in the color pink. They are born grey or white and take up to three years to get their color.
3. While wild flamingos live up to thirty years captive flamingos live up to 50 years. Weird right...
4. The last fact is that flamingos are cute, shrimp loving animals. Sorry that I did not provide that many facts, but it is hard to find facts about flamingos that are interesting.
My quote for this week is, "Do not be afraid of going slow, only be afraid of stopping."
My goals for this week are to try my very best in softball. I will even dive for some of those balls!
Beep Beep, I'm a running Roadrunner writing all day!
