Molly's Column

June 04, 2014
Hi, this is Molly! How are you doing? Today I will write about school, 10 cool facts about horses, one inspiring quote, and goals. Let's get started…

In room 24, our fifth grade class has been working on math graphs. I think that learning about graphs is fun because you can see the growth in something and you can compare what amount of people like something. If you think about it, graphs are used in about every single business. Not only that, but graphs are fun to look at. In a way, if you are comparing your classmates, then you can learn more about them. We are also finishing up the end of the school year, so I would like to try and encourage my classmates to finish strong and not slack on their work. Everything that you slack on still goes on your grade.

Here are ten cool facts about horses. In fact, my family just got a horse…

1. Did you know that young horses can run shortly after their birth?

2. Did you know that a horse has bigger eyes than any mammal that lives on land?

3. Did you know that a horse's heart weighs up to nine pounds?

4. Did you know that an average horse has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years?

5. Did you know that male horses have more teeth than a female horse?

6. Did you know that horses sleep standing up, but can sleep shortly lying down?

7. Did you know that horses cannot throw up?

8. Did you know that horses are herbivores?

9. Did you know that horses can drink up to 25 gallons of water a day?

10. Did you know that ponies typically live longer horses?

"Success is 99 percent attitude and 1 percent aptitude."-Celestine Chua

This quote means that if you have a great attitude, you can overcome any problem. If you make up your mind that you can be who you want to be, you can be that person with your attitude.

My goal for this week is to try my very best in everything concerning school because it is the end of the year and I do not want to slack.

Beep Beep! I'm a running Roadrunner writing all day.
