July 16, 2014Hi, this is Molly! How are you doing? I will write one more article this summer to update you on how the Ramona Fair was and I will write next year as a sixth grader! Today I will write a special thanks to my Del Mar Fair buyers and everyone else that helped me. I will also talk about summer, my Ramona pig, information about the Ramona Fair, and an inspiring quote about happiness.
I cannot thank Valley Center Oil enough! They bought a lot of animals, so they must have a lot of meat! Also, my Grandma and Grandpa bought my two pigs! I truly hope that you enjoy your meat. All of you put a smile on my face all day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I honestly don't know how I can thank you enough. Also thanks to everyone who helped me this season including Chris Weir (CW Livestock), Lisa Weir, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Curtis, Clint Cummings, Mr. Bagstad, Mr. Maynard, Mr. & Mrs. Martineau (aka Grandpa/Grandma), my mom, and the biggest thank you goes to my family for all the work and time they have helped me. Also, big thanks to all the local companies and families in Valley Center for supporting all of the Valley Center 4-H and FFA students. Without your support we wouldn't be able to keep going. Great job to everyone in Valley Center 4-H Swine Group (Amanda and Jayden Maynard, Taylor Hutchinson, Kaya Patten, Ethan Rockwell, Liam and Quinn Kennedy, Ethan and Analyse McCoy, Cameron and Cory Whittier, Chris Rabin, Lauren Williams, Gracie and Owen Bagstad, Evan Maher, and Lacey Bainbridge). Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart.
Don't forget to pick up your $0.99 soda from Valley Center Oil and their gas is open to the public. While you are shopping in their new mini mart, they will even wash your windows! I mean, how many other gas stations wash your windows?
How is your summer going? Are you having fun, beating the sun? This summer I have been working with my pigs a lot getting ready for the fairs. Although, my family and I have made plenty of time to enjoy the sun. We have enjoyed the beach, some pools, chores, and painting our house. The last two things were pretty weird to like, but it is true.
My Ramona pig is doing great. She is a little rusty on training because I have not walked her in a while because of the Del Mar Fair. She is so cute I just love her to pieces, although she is quite the spitfire. Hopefully she will be all geared up and ready to go by fair time.
So as most of you know I am showing at the Ramona Fair and hopefully will be auctioning her off on Aug. 2 at 1 p.m., but buyers check in at 11 a.m. I am really excited to show again because I love 4-H and 4-H is my passion. To be able to come home after the first fair knowing what I can improve on is really cool. It is like in a way I have a second chance for the same season of showing. With this pig, I am training the same just also working on the stuff that I did not work on with my other pigs.
"The meaning of being happy: finding the bright side out of everything you do wrong." This means that you can be happy even when you're down and when you have done something wrong.
Oh yeah, I'm not a Roadrunner anymore since I am going to the middle school next school year. So, sniff the fresh air, look up at the blue sky, sip lemonade, and enjoy your summer!.
