VCHS to hold annual Sports Clearance Night on Aug. 6
August 01, 2013Valley Center High School (VCHS) will host its annual Sports Clearance Night for high school athletes that would like to participate in Jaguar athletics this school year.
The Sports Clearance Night will be held on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. at VCHS. This will be the only evening this service is offered at VCHS for the 2013–14 school year. Don't miss out!
The cost is $35 (cash or check only) and one hour of time can get you ready for sports for the entire year, so students are encouraged to be proactive. Please make your checks payable to "Valley Center High School Athletics." Parents must remain with their athletes throughout the clearance process.
The proceeds from the event will go directly to the VCHS athletic programs.
All students (grade 9–12) interested in playing sports or cheerleading can get their sports physical and athletic clearance completed for the upcoming school year on Aug. 6. All current eighth graders interested in high school sports or cheerleading are invited to participate in this event.
All athletes must complete and turn in an athletic clearance packet to the Athletic Department prior to tryouts. Athletes will not be allowed on any play surface without being cleared by the Athletic Department first. If you have your sports physical completed elsewhere you can turn in your completed sports clearance packet to the VCHS office beginning Aug. 1.
The required forms will be available at the clearance night. You can also visit the VCHS athletics Web site at http://vcpusd.haikulearning.com/Barnett.Mi/athletics/cms_page/view to download the necessary forms.
In addition, you are also required to provide proof of insurance when signing up for a sport. A copy of your medical insurance card or letter from your medical insurance company will provide this proof. If your student does not have health insurance, you may purchase school insurance.
Please contact the athletic office at 760-751-5500 if you have any questions.
