The Lady Jags began the good week last Wednesday with a 3–0 home win over Mt. Carmel on the strength of two goals by Delaney Cummings and another from Araceli Mondragon. In her first varsity season, goalkeeper Bailey Sanders made several clutch saves to preserve the shutout win for Valley Center.

The Lady Jaguars played at Cathedral Catholic last Thursday and suffered a 3–0 loss, then battled through a scoreless tie against San Marcos to open Saturday's Valley Center Tournament.

Coach Rebecca Embrey has a young Lady Jags team playing very well early in the season.
The Lady Jags advanced to the tournament's semifinals, where they squeaked out a 1–0 win over Del Norte behind a goal from Bianka Perez that was assisted by Kaylin Ryan. Once again, Sanders was rock-solid in goal, making four saves to get her second shutout of the week.

But in the final, Valley Center ran into a tough Westview team that took the title with a 2–0 win.

Delaney Cummings scored twice to lead the Lady Jags to a win over Mt. Carmel.
The Lady Wolverines peppered the Valley Center net with shots throughout the game, and while she allowed two goals, Sanders stopped an incredible 15 shots to keep her team in the game.

Up next for the Lady Jaguars is a pair of road games, as they travel to Chula Vista on Friday before heading to Canyon Crest next Wednesday.
