Greer finishes second to lead strong individual Jaguar performances in Kit Carson Invitational
October 31, 2013Senior runner Bannon Greer continued his outstanding season with a second-place finish to lead the Valley Center cross-country teams in the Kit Carson Invitational on Friday.
Greer led the Jaguars with a time of 15:47, as the entire Valley Center team competed against 1,465 runners from 49 teams, and did a great job hosting the event.
Also for the varsity boys, Rod Rodriguez finished 13th (16:46), Fernando Ramirez was 19th (16:52), AJ Monzon was 19th (17:26), Thomas Stehly was 52nd (17:27), Austin Reser was 55th (17:32) and Nick Mendoza was 66th (17:46).
For the girls varsity team, April Lackpour led the way in 12th (18:10), Helen Lopez finished 17th (18:26), Danielle Pettit took 37th (19:47), Hailie Santana was 46th (20:28), Julia Stone was 49th (20:47) and Monica Lambarena was 63rd (22:43).
For the JV boys, Tyler Appolito finished ninth (18:21), Jonathan Glassell was tenth (18:23), Charles Morningstar took 15th (18:27), Daniel Zorrilla was 17th (18:35), Cristian Alvarez was 38th (19:11), Antonio Ruiz was 51st (19:26), Matt Mahoney was 53rd (19:50), Henry Kraus was 71st (20:12), Chris Allen was 77th (20:22), Michael Carvajal was 115th (21:07), Greg Murphy was 145th (21:41), Antonio Flores was 136th (23:48), Logan Turner was 137th (23:48) and Mark Villalobos was 140th (25:26).
And for the JV girls, Joya Manjur was 43rd (23:23), Monique Mendoza was 57th (24:15), Petrona Gonzales was 70th (24:58), Bridgette Usher was 84th (26:30), Shaira Canoza was 89th (26:45) and Amber Owler was 97th (29:08).
Next up for the Jaguars is the Valley League Cluster II at Kit Carson Park today at 3:15 p.m.
