For the second year in a row, the Valley Center varsity boys water polo team captured the Valley League title, as the Jaguars split their two games in the pool this week.

The Jaguars earned their second consecutive league title with a win over Del Norte after suffering a tough loss against Santana earlier in the week. The Jaguars played at Santana last Tuesday, Oct. 29, and couldn't overcome a slow start in taking an 11–8 loss.

After a rough outing against Santana the previous week, the Jags had a better start this time a round scoring two goals and allowing four. The Jags were able to hold Santana to two goals in the second, while scoring one, to trail 6–3 at halftime.

"The guys showed a ton of improvement compared to our game against Santana last week," head coach Kyle Kline said. "Luke Marshall was able to get Santana's leading scorer into foul trouble in the first quarter which changed the momentum in the game. The guys put together a solid fourth quarter, but we came up just a bit short."

After a nip-and-tuck game through the first three quarters, the Jaguars played an outstanding fourth quarter to take the win, 10–5.

The Jags scored two goals but allowed two in the first. They were able to earn two more goals in the second and allowed none to lead 4–2 at halftime.

Del Norte had a three-goal run in the third, with the Jags scoring one, knotting the game at five heading into the fourth.
