Lady Jags honor volleyball seniors, but drop final two matches of the season

Valley Center's varsity girls volleyball team wrapped up the season this week by honoring its three seniors, but the Lady Jaguars came up short in the final two matches of the season.

The Lady Jags played the final match of the season at home on Friday night and took some time to honor seniors Jasmine Contreras, Savanna Reilly and Jennifer Casillas before the action began.

The Lady Jaguars couldn't hold off the visiting Mission Vista Lady Timberwolves and suffered a 3–1 loss, with game scores of 16–25, 29–27, 24–26, 16–25.

Casillas led the way with 15 kills and 18 digs, while Reilly had eight kills and an ace, Clara Padinski had four blocks, Charlotte Connell had three blocks and Brooke DeLauder had 27 assists.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Jaguars hosted Del Norte last Wednesday and suffered a 3–0 loss, with game scores of 16–25, 17–25, 11–25.

Casillas recorded nine kills, an ace and a block, while Reilly had four kills and Susie Henderson had 12 assists.

For the season, Casillas led the team with 344 kills and had 44 blocks, 141 digs and 28 aces. Reilly added 177 kills, 18 blocks, 101 digs and 19 aces, while Contreras had seven kills, 19 aces, 219 serve receptions and 235 digs.
