SportQuest is hosting a Tennis Academy at Adams Park this month for young tennis players who are looking to improve their game.

The academy consists of lessons that take place once a week on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (depending on age and ability) from 3:15-4:45 p.m. at the Adams Park Tennis Courts, for a total of 3 group lessons (total of 4.5 hours).

The price of the academy is $45 for Valley Center Tennis Club members and $50 for non-members. This cost covers three lessons and 1.5 hours each, plus a bonus one-hour private lesson for new students.

Membership in the Valley Center Tennis Club is not required. However, by joining a member's discount and a free private lesson are made available. A junior membership is $30 per year and a family membership costs $90 per year.

You can register with tennis coach Seth Leichtfuss by emailing him at seth@sportquest.org or by calling 619-777-6257.

SportQuest does not want cost to be a reason for your child being unable to participate in group tennis lessons. A limited number of partial scholarships as well as family discounts are available.

Coach Leichtfuss will also offer a series of four tennis lessons next month, from Jan. 7–30.

The lessons began on Dec. 3 and run through Dec. 19, with the following schedule:

— Thurs., Dec. 5 (ages 11–13)

— Tues., Dec. 10 (ages 6–7)

— Wed., Dec. 11 (ages 8–10)

— Thurs., Dec. 12 (ages 11–13)

— Tues., Dec. 17 (ages 6–7)

— Wed., Dec. 18 (ages 8–10)

— Thurs., Dec. 19 (ages 11–13)
