Lady Jaguars finish Wolverine Tournament without a win

January 08, 2014
The Valley Center varsity girls basketball team had a rough holiday season, as the Lady Jaguars fought their way through two tournaments but couldn't bring home a win.

Beginning the day after Christmas, the Lady Jags played in the Aztec Holiday Classic and suffered a trio of losses, falling to Patrick Henry, Montgomery and Calexico in subsequent games.

Then in the Wolverine Shootout at Westview High School, the Lady Jaguars played four more games, and still couldn't find a way to get a win.

They fell to the host team in the tournament opener, then lost to Carlsbad, Kwalikum and Oceanside in subsequent games.

Despite only one win so far this season, the Lady Jags are eager to begin the league portion of the schedule, which begins Jan. 17 at home against El Camino at 7 p.m.
