Coach Mariah Bohnsten and assistant coach Wendy Fiehler had the Lady Jags lacrosse team fired up and ready for a victory against the Fallbrook Warriors in last Friday night's battle. The Warrior's put up a good effort, but just not enough to turn the tide their way.

Friday was Senior Night and the Valley Center High seniors made a spectacular show of heart and team spirit.

Senior Bianka Pacheco chalked up four goals and two assists. Not to be out of the fight, senior Alexandra Velasquez was credited with three goals of her own, plus an interception. The Jaguars were firing on all cylinders with senior Parris Toedt adding to the effort with three saves in goal and ground ball control.

The seniors were in fine tune with each of their teammates and led the way with a commanding defensive effort by senior Cierra Serrano. Though injured, senior Melinda Olson made her contribution to the victory by stepping in to take center draw.

Not to be let out of the fray, Kaylin Ryan was very effective by assisting with two goals, six draw controls, and two interceptions that were the cause of three turnovers. Freshman player Sierra Sisler recorded three goals followed by fellow freshman Nina Montejano with two goals of her own. Savanna Filer was credited with five draw controls and caused four turnovers.

The final score was Valley Center 15, Fallbrook High 7. The Valley Center Girls Varsity have ended their season with an overall record of 8-6 and a league record of 5-4.
