The Latin American Soccer League extends an invitation to all to form teams and come out for competition.

Soccer is taking on a new interest in the U.S. and some of that interest is here in Valley Center. There are currently four Valley Center teams in the Latin American Soccer League including semi- pro team Jesus Maria and intermediate teams City Bravo, Queretero, and Comblinado.

Competitions are held throughout North County San Diego with games every Sunday being played from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Valley Center at the soccer field behind the lower elementary school.

According to Marcos Sotello the program director, many of the players range in age from 16 to 27 years of age and play at all skill levels. Membership fees are $25 per year and a small fee for referees and coaches at each game ranging from $5 to $7.

Several of the players are participants in the Valley Center High School Soccer Program as well as some of the surrounding schools and colleges. The current season ends in August with the start of the next seasonal play beginning in September and ending in December.

If you would like to form a team or participate on an existing team, you can reach Marcos Sotello at (760) 224-8992 for more information.
