It's that time of year, prepare for the Jags
July 30, 2014It is almost upon us, Valley Center High School sports seasons. Another exciting year is about to start. The Valley Center Jaguars have always provided exciting competitive sports to the community. One of the greatest compliments on our sports programs was rendered by one of our competitor's parents. They asked the question, "How does such a small community produce such great sports teams?"
My answer is that our community dedicates an awful lot of its resident time and effort to nurture our youth by encouraging them to play sports of all kinds and at the same time implant the spirit of good sportsmanship, respect for their opponents, good citizenship, academic excellence, and the desire to perform at their very best.
Valley Center High School students are a very tightly-knit group of young men and women with pride in what they say and do on the athletic field. They love to compete and compete to win.
Our first game will be a football scrimmage on Aug. 22 against Chula Vista. Girls volleyball, field hockey, girls golf, and cross country are all on the upcoming fall schedule. Schedules can be found online by going to www.vchs.vcpusd.net and then clicking on the athletics tab and then clicking on the fall schedule.
