LANDFILL COMMENTS—About two weeks remain for the extended period for public comment to the Air Pollution Control District before it will make a final decision on the Authority to Construct permit for the proposed Gregory Canyon landfill near Pala. APCD staff evaluations have determined the landfill would operate in compliance with APCD rules and regulations as well as federal requirements.
The public comment period was to end earlier this month, but was extended to Sept. 4. After that date the APCD will review comments before making a final decision on a Permit to Construct. A complete list of required permits for the proposed landfill are available at www.GregoryCanyon.com and www.sdapcd.org/homepage/public_part/notices/Gregory_Cyn_Land_Notice.pdf
