Scout seeks help to do Eagle project
August 21, 2013Brandon Kelley is a 16-year-old Boy Scout from Valley Center Troop 673, the same troop that displays the flags along Valley Center Road during patriotic holidays.
A VC resident almost his entire life, he has been a Boy Scout since he was 6, starting at the rank of tiger in Cub Scouts. He has completed all his requirements to achieve the highest rank of Eagle Scout, except completing his Eagle Scout project.
Scouts must plan, organize, lead, and manage an extensive service project to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout. As his project, Brandon decided to build aluminum benches at the lower field of the Valley Center Primary School.
The benches would be used by children of the primary school and by players and spectators of sports teams using the field. Brandon needs to raise nearly $3,000 in donations to finance the project. Any funds raised beyond the amount needed for the project will be donated to the primary school.
If you would like to assist Brandon Kelley in completing his project, call 760-749-6329, email at firstname.lastname@example.org or through the troop address, Valley Center Boy Scout troop 673, POB 1111, Valley Center, CA 92082.
