Deputy sheriff, 48, dies tragically
October 02, 2013Michael Andrew McFarlan, a deputy sheriff working in Valley Center, died unexpectedly Sept. 24 of natural causes. He was 48.
In a statement from the Deputy Sheriffs' Association, President Matt Clay wrote, "Michael worked proudly as a deputy sheriff for five years serving the community of Valley Center and the city of San Marcos." McFarlan was born on Aug. 31, 1965.
McFarlan is survived by Tamara, his loving wife of 21 years. He also leaves behind his 15-year old triplet sons, Dominic, Hunter, and Noah, and his 7-year old daughter Rilyn.
Services will be held at the Sunridge Community Church in Temecula on Friday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately following.
