Valley Center Trails hosts third open house

October 03, 2013
Whether you are an equestrian, a hiker or a cyclist, the place for you to be on Oct. 19 is the community room of the Valley Center Library for the third annual open house celebration hosted by the Valley Center Trails Association (VCTA).

Free food and drinks, great door prizes, musical entertainment by Rails and Trails, as well as a montage of photos from this year's hikes, will offer entertainment galore.

Beginning at 3 p.m. and lasting until 6 p.m., the event offers something for everyone. Trails board members will be available to answer questions concerning prospective trails in Valley Center. An itinerary of upcoming hikes will also be available. Learn, also, how you can help to achieve the goals of the association.

VCTA was formed in 1999 to assist the county and VC Parks and Recreation District to implement the Community Trails Master Plan adopted by the County Board of Supervisors. Approximately 119 miles of trails and pathways which will connect recreational sites and enhance the Valley Center experience are envisioned.

Already maintaining a roster of more than 100 members, the Trails Association is one of the largest community groups in Valley Center. Join the group on Oct. 19 in celebrating their success is raising community awareness of the trails projects.
