Warner Ranch to present revised plan

Developers of the proposed Warner Ranch development will present the latest revisions of their plans to build 780 residential units on approximately 140 acres of the 513-acre parcels located north of SR-76 and west of Pala Casino to the next meeting of the Pala Pauma Community Sponsor Group (PPCSG).

The Warner Ranch Project application would require discretionary actions on the part of San Diego County, including an amendment of the recently adopted General Plan for increased density, a Rezone, a Specific Plan, a Vesting Tentative Map, a site plan and an Administrative Permit for entry gates, according to Charles Mathews, chair of PPCSG.

"PPCSG has reviewed previous proposals and each time it has recommended to the County land use authorities that significant changes would be needed to conform the proposal to the environment of Pauma Valley and has questioned whether adequate water and sewerage can be made available," Mathews said. "Based upon public input, PPCSG has also questioned the need for such an extensive development in rural lands given existing plans to build 2,000 plus homes in the northeast corner of SR-76 and I-15, just a few miles to the west of the Warner Ranch proposal."

The meeting will also feature an informational presentation of San Diego Gas and Electric regarding a project proposal

to develop a 2000 kilowatt photovoltaic solar facility on land at 35453 Pala Del Norte Road in Pala, Calif. The Nov. 12 meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Pauma Valley Community Center, 16650 Highway 76, Pauma Valley, Calif.
