VCCC to host candlelight vigil

December 18, 2013
On Christmas Eve, the Valley Center Community Church will be hosting a candlelight service at the Maxine Theater.

"It's an event that we love and look forward to every year," said Sandy Dambkowski, one of the event organizers. "We sing carols usually, we have a message preached, and then we do candle lighting at the end of the ceremony."

The service starts at 5 p.m. and will run for about an hour. Anyone is welcome to attend. This year's candlelight service is titled "Immanuel, When God Came Near."

"God sent a son to come save us on Christmas Eve," said Dambkowski. "This is about the comfort that comes from God that He gives through Christ."

If the weather allows it, carolers will be invited to go out on the patio and sing a Christmas carol as well.
