Bridgette Usher, Shelby Becker, Violet Meyers, and Amanda Baranowski, Cadette Girl Scouts from Troop 4950 recently received their Silver Award (the second highest in Girl Scouts) at a ceremony put on by the Girl Scouts Council of San Diego. The girls worked for two years organizing and completing their projects. One project was collecting supplies from local veterinarians and the community to benefit the Escondido Humane Society and another project was making pillow cases for cancer patients. The girls look forward to beginning the work necessary to earn their Girl Scout Gold Award — the highest commendation in Girl Scouting.
