Thunderhawk Voice

January 31, 2014
How has 2014 been so far? Have you made any New Years' Resolutions? Have you stuck to them? It's still not too late. You can still make a resolution and you can still stick to the ones you've already made. If you write down the resolutions, it'll help you stick to them. Let's make 2014 great!

ASB has made an ASB link on the Middle School website. This now means you can have a place to see spirit points, upcoming events, pictures, and anything else ASB-related! All you have to do is go onto the website and click the student tab. Then at the bottom of the lists there will be a link to the ASB website. Check this constantly to know what is happening at your school, Thunderhawks!

Get ready Thunderhawks, The Great Kindness Challenge is almost here. It kicks off on Jan. 27 and ends on Jan. 31. There will be spirit days each day of this week. Monday is "Sunglasses Day" because kindness shines bright. Tuesday is "Twin/Multiple Day" because kindness multiplies. Wednesday is "Inside Out Day" because kindness heals inside and out. Thursday is "Camo Day" for courage to be kind. Friday is "Crazy Hair Day" because we're crazy for kindness. Get ready to earn spirit points and be kind to each other at the same time!

On Jan. 27 we have an early release day. Yay! We get out an extra 2 hours at 12:35 p.m.

On Jan. 24 we started a Pasta for Pennies program so start saving your change. There will be competition between 4th period classes. Students can bring in loose change, currency, or checks in order to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.

The first day students may bring in money is Jan. 27. The program will end on Feb. 14. The fourth period class that collects the most amount of money earns a special luncheon sponsored by the Olive Garden Restaurant.

We are almost to the end of the year, believe it or not. That means yearbooks will be out soon. They are on sale now. There is a link on the Middle School website and they are only $35. Yearbooks are a great way to remember the great year we'll all have!

I challenge all of you Thunderhawks to go out of your way to do a kind act for someone else. You never know who needs it and will appreciate it most. Anything as simple as smiling or holding the door can make someone's day!

For this week ... This Thunderhawk is flying away!
