Anglers' March meeting features Coast Guard speaker
March 05, 2014The Escondido Senior Anglers will hold their monthly meeting this month on Friday, March 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the senior center located at 210 Park Ave. in Escondido.
The guest speaker for this meeting will be Joe T. O'Hagan, Branch Chief for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in San Diego. Mr. O'Hagan will discuss small boat safety with a special emphasis on inland lakes and ocean activities. The boat safety refresher is especially important for the Senior Anglers as they host their upcoming Youth Derby and enjoy boat fishing on all the local lakes, bays and ocean.
"This promises to be a most interesting and informative program for all who attend so join us for the program and, who knows, you may also get lucky and win one of our several valuable door prizes at the conclusion of the meeting!" says the group's Public Relations Director, Ron Casapulla.
The Escondidio Senior Anglers are an energetic, over-50 crowd of men and women who participate in both fresh and saltwater fishing, youth trout and catfish derbies, various picnics, RV camp-outs and other community service events. Guests are always welcome and reservations are not required… but shirts and shoes are! All meetings are free of charge.
