Friends of the Valley Center Library announce new scholarship
April 16, 2014The Friends of the Valley Center Library will award a $500 scholarship to one Valley Center High School senior to help offset college rising fees. Criteria for application for this scholarship include: a one-two page essay explaining what the student expects to achieve in college, and how this scholarship will help them financially; a GPA of 3.0 or better; proof of acceptance to an accredited four-year college, or accredited two year college; financial need.
Financial need will be determined by the counselor, teachers, and staff of VCHS. A scholarship committee appointed by the FOL board will read the essays to determine the award. The essay is due by May 1.
Interested students can contact Becky Rumble, Guidance Technician at the high school. The scholarship will be awarded in June.
