PEO awards scholarship to Jessica Sanyal

On the recommendation of the Valley Center chapter of P.E.O. the $2,500 P.E.O. Scholarship has been awarded to Jessica Sanyal of Valley Center, a senior at Escondido Charter High School. She was presented the scholarship at the May 31 awards ceremony by Diana Taucher.

Miss Sanyal is the daughter of Juli & Vikash Sanyal. She will attend U.C. Berkeley in the fall and plans to study Biology/Psychology.

The $2,500 P.E.O. scholarship is based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada, or who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a P.E.O. chapter.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an international philanthropic and educational organization, which promotes increased educational opportunities for women. There are nearly 6,000 chapters in the U.S. and Canada with almost 250,000 members.
