Anyone with just about any skill-set can be of assistance to the council, whose mission is to help make the community fire safe. New members can help with committee work, grant seeking, computer work and bookkeeping.

The Valley Center Fire Safe Council was formed as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization in the State of California. It is comprised of a five-member Board of Directors consisting of residents of Valley Center and stakeholders. The group has immediate openings for volunteer members of the Fire Safe Council Board.

Volunteer members of the Valley Center Fire Safe Council work with the fire department to identify fire hazard areas in our community and develop grant funded programs to reduce fire hazards, educate the residents about fire safety, fire prevention and improve the survivability of our neighborhoods in the event of a wildfire event.

All Fire Safe Council members have the following common goals:

Promote Fire Safety Education

Encourage Pre-Fire Management

Attend Meetings re: wildfire prevention

Participate in Fire Safe Council Programs and Activities
