Broadway songs highlight library ‘Pops’ concert Aug. 1

Songs from Broadway musical theater headline the Valley Center Library free Summer Pops concert Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. in the library Community Room.

Julia Boulos and Sydney Circle will perform songs from well-known musicals including Les Miserables, Wicked, Into the Woods and The Wizard of Oz. The Summer Pops program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Boulos and Circle are well known musicians in Valley Center. Circle, who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance at University of California, Los Angeles, accompanies school and community choruses and musical theatre productions. Boulos has performed in and directed numerous musicals and groups on stage including a production of Into the Woods for Valley Center Community Theater in 2011. Boulos earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the California State University, Long Beach.

The final concert of the Summer Pops series at the library will be performed by the Brandon Cesmat Trio, bringing a night of great jazz for a grand finale performance on Thursday, Aug. 8.
