FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL— Bates Nut Farm and Lucks Media Group announce the return of the Valley Center Food Truck Festival happening on Saturday, Aug. 24. It is open to the general public from 3 – 9 p.m., with a special VIP session from 1– 2:30 p.m. The second annual festival will feature more food trucks, more vendors, more entertainment, and family fun. An addition to this year’s festival is the Valley Center Beer & Wine Showcase. The festival theme is “Let’s Go Hawaiian!”, and guests are encouraged dress Hawaiian and show their Aloha spirit.

16 gourmet food trucks will be parked around the green and will serve a variety of mobile cuisine including barbecue, crepes, Cajun, burgers, desserts and everything in between. Returning are crowd favorites Devilicious, Underdogs Gastro Truck, Under the Crust, Crepes Bonaparte, Super Q, Chip’s Beach Eatz, New York on Rye, Chubby’s, Two for the Road, Sweet Treats and Pierogi Truck. New to the lineup are Bitchin Burgers, Dang Brothers Pizza, Hoangie’s Bahn Mi, Pearson’s Cajun Food, and Organic Food Truck. The trucks will begin serving at 3 p.m., but there is a private VIP Food Sampling Session offered from 1:00 – 2:30. Tickets for the VIP Food Sampling Session can be purchased in advance at Limited tickets will be available the day of the event.

In addition to the food offerings, this year’s festival will include the Valley Center Beer & Wine Showcase. Guests can sample craft beverages from San Diego area breweries and wineries. The lineup includes Manzanita Brewery Co., Iron Fist Brewing Company, Aztec Brewing Company, Hess Brewing, Accidental Winery and California Fruit Wine. General admission to the Showcase is from 3– 8 p.m., with last call at 7:30. Single servings can be purchased for $5, and a package of 10 tastes can be purchased for $25 at the entrance. Also offered are 2 levels of the VIP Early Beer & Wine Tasting that will run from 1:00 – 2:30, before the Showcase opens to the general public. 21 and over only.

Entertainment for the whole family will happen throughout the day, including a DJ, live music, and a special appearance by Hula Ramos from Energy 103.7. LoCALI Grown will play on the Bates stage from 4– 8 p.m. The Kids Zone is open from 3– 9 p.m. and will have pony rides, petting zoo, Kids N Paint and other children's activities. The vendor area will also be open from 3– 9 p.m.
