Saturday, Aug. 17, at the home of her son, Gary Martin, a 40-year VC resident, will gather with members of the family from all over America to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mary Wolf Martin.

Mrs. Martin was born in South Dakota, the 4th of 17 children born to August F. Wolf and Josephine Rensch. Today she is the oldest surviving of her four remaining siblings and lives at the home of her daughter, Vicki Gabele-Bixby and son-in-law, Fred Bixby.

Mrs. Martin is an active and alert minded senior that loves the Angels and Padres baseball teams and wouldn't miss a game from either team. She loves to read the newspaper daily, work the crossword puzzles; go to the beauty shop to get her hair done; attend church on Sunday and to be around her family.

The VC centenarian is the mother of three grown children, Gary Martin of Valley Center, David Martin of Menifee and Vicki who resides in Pacific Beach.

Saturday, Aug. 17 the family will celebrate her 100th birthday with her and 150 of her relatives travelling to town from as far as New York. They plan to have a big luau, Hawaiian food and the authentic Hawaiian Dancers by Mendoiola Island Productions.
