Emily May Larzalere, 84, known for her work ethic

Emily May Larzalere died peacefully Sept. 29 in Camarillo, Calif. after a brief illness. She was 84.

Emily was born Dec. 6, 1928 in Winslow, Ariz. to Daniel Roy and Henrietta Rose Jackson. She lived with her family in several locations in the south western states until her teenage years when her family settled in San Diego.

In 1947, she met and married her husband of 58 years John Larzalere who preceded her in death. Emily worked in the food service industry for 35 years where she was respected for her strong work ethic and loved by the people she served.

In 1979 they retired to Las Vegas, Nev. where she spent the next 30 years. Emily relocated to Camarillo, Calif. in 2009. She loved her family and was devoted to her husband and children. She was our heart and soul.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Daniel and wife Randi of Hilo, Hawaii, John and wife Glenda of Ramona, Calif., Christine Schioppi and husband Albert of Camarillo, Calif., Patti Schalich and husband Tom of Novato, Calif., nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Gladys McKensey, sister-in–law Josie Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 11, 2013 at 12 p.m. at McCleod Mortuary in Escondido, followed by internment at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido, Calif.
