Hospice Volunteers needed for Valley Center

The Elizabeth Hospice is looking for patient care volunteers in Valley Center to assist hospice patients and their families.

Fall volunteer training will be held Nov. 18-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elizabeth Hospice administrative building located at 500 La Terraza Blvd, Suite 130, Escondido.

Volunteer training is free and open to the public. Bilingual volunteers, pet therapy volunteers and military veterans are needed.

Professional staff at The Elizabeth Hospice teaches the comprehensive training classes, addressing issues such as the volunteer role in hospice care, working with non-verbal patients, cultural diversity, complementary therapies, and active listening.

Graduates of this volunteer training will serve hospice patients and their family members that live in the graduate’s community.
