Midget Jaguars claim 1st place at last weekend’s JAMZ

The Valley Center Pop Warner Midget Jaguars won 1st place at last weekend’s JAMZ Championship held at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.

The team’s placing advances the team to JAMZ Nationals in Las Vegas this January when the team will also defend their national title in the Character Dance Division. The team also recently placed 1st at the Pop Warner Palomar Conference Competition and will compete at the Pop Warner Wescon Regional Championship in Long Beach at the end of this month in hopes of qualifying to compete at Pop Warner Nationals to be held in Florida next month.



The girls are currently fundraising for their upcoming championship competitions. The public is encouraged to help. A raffle will be held on Dec. 5 for a gift card basket valued at more than $600. For tickets contact vcpwjagcheer@yahoo.com or 760-638-1511.



This year’s team, led by coach Jeanna Slattery, includes: Alisa Marks, Alta Dickinson, Alyssa Muniz, Arrianna Ruelas, Braeden Schulman, Brooklyn Reed, Diana Francisco, Emily Camacho, Heather Rodriguez, Makenna Lawton, Wiyaala Turner, Mia Gonzales, Nawishmal Turner, Paige Harrington, Reagan Mitchell, Rose Morones, and Shelby Owen. The team is also coached by student coaches, Faith Mitchell and Logan Lucero as well as coaches Kim Evans, Katie Evans, Bre Todd, Janet Nelson, and Cathy Nelson.
