Valley Vocal Ensemble Christmas concert

The Valley Vocal Ensemble (formerly the Inland Chorale), under the direction of Randy Dawkins and accompanied on piano by Virginia Pritchard, will present its 'Christmas: Past and Present' concert at 3 p.m. on Dec. 14 at St. John Lutheran Church (26410 Columbia St. in Hemet), 3 p.m. on Dec. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church (191 Columbia St. in Hemet), and again at 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 at Beaumont Presbyterian Church (702 Euclid Ave. in Beaumont).

The concert will continue the ensemble’s hallmark program format with a combination of classical works along with more contemporary songs. This season the song selection includes J. S. Bach’s Christians Be Joyful from the Christmas Oratorio, Beethoven’s Hallelujah, plus arrangements of Silent Night, Do You Hear What I Hear?, Merry Christmas, Darling, ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, and many more. In addition, the Dec. 14, concert will also include three songs presented by the Community Youth Choir comprised of students in grades three through eight attending schools in the San Jacinto Valley.

Tickets are $8 or two for $15 when purchased in advance or $10 per person at the door. Advance sale ticket reservations are available by calling 357-3929.
