Conti and Mears wed

Nicole Conti, born and raised in Valley Center and Matthew Mears born in Siler City, NC were married Friday, Jan. 24th at half past three in the afternoon at Nicoleís childhood home in Valley Center.

Nicole graduated from Valley Center High School in 2004 and moved to Santa Barbara to attend college at the University of California Santa Barbara. She graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Communication and Global Studies. Matt graduated from Torrey Pines High School in 2004 and also attended UCSB where he and Nicole met and became friends. Matt graduated from UCSB in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

They started dating over three years ago. Matt proposed to Nicole on the jumbo screen at the Chargers v. Ravens game at Qualcomm last November 25, 2012. Nicole is a writer and also does legal research at her fatherís Law Office and Matt is a behavioral interventionist for ACES working with autistic children. He is also an umpire and has umpped VCHS games among others.

The bride is the daughter of William Conti and Becky Boberg. The groom is the son of Hamilton Mears and Elizabeth Mears.

The couple was wed at sunset on the grassy lawn in the backyard of the home built by her family. Her sister, Candace Syla was her Matron of Honor and D.J. Martin was the best man. Bridesmaids were Heather Conti, Geneva Goldberg, Jaimie Takajo and Carolyn Wheatley. Groomsmen were Matt Casino, T.J. Hamelin, Steven Knapp and Josh Sandoval. Cousin Assad Saif performed the marriage and the bride was escorted by her father.

After celebrating their honeymoon in Grenada and St. Lucia, the couple will return to their home in Carlsbad, CA.
