Ridgeview Church

St. Stephens

This week we have Altar Server training, the Rosary and Divine Mercy Devotion, High School Life Nite, RCIC, RCIA in English and Spanish, CCD for all youth, Bible study on The Book of Acts, Confession, St. Vincent pantry distribution, Spanish Faith Formation, and Women’s Guild Valentine’s Bake Sale.

The new Single Parent’s Ministry offers Catholics a Divorce Healing program each Saturday at 6:30 p.m. after the 5:30 p.m. mass up to and including April 12. Included in the program is a 30-minute DVD covering topics such as: the courts, kids, staying single and much more. This program offers valuable insight for everyone.

Keep the Plate Bake Sale for Valentine’s Day will be Saturday, and Sunday, Feb. 8 and 9 after all Masses. There will be yummy goodies on beautiful silver and collector plates for you to take home for that special person in your life.

The GENESIS TO JESUS bible study begins Sunday, Feb. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the home of Deacon Gil and Gloria Salinas. This is something great to do for Lent. Breakfast is included in each session. Call 760-749-2820 for directions and more information.

First Holy Communion

Parent/Child Retreat will be Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. This special afternoon is planned for the children and parents of those preparing to receive First Holy Communion this spring. This is part of the preparation process and is a special time with your child.

The 16th Annual Divine Mercy Conference will be held at the Mission San Antonio de Pala’s San Juan Diego Center on Feb. 21 and 22, 2014. Bishop Cirilo Flores will celebrate the opening Mass on Friday at 7 p.m. (No need to register for the Mass). Talks will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. by several priests, a married father of six children and a religious artist. Call Mary Norris at 760-751-1157 for more information.

Seventh-day Adventist

Seventh-day Adventist Church, preaching the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Thursday evening is our opportunity feed the homeless at the Haven House in Escondido. Sabbath (Saturday) services will begin with Bible study classes at 9:30 a.m. for all ages. The adult lesson is entitled, “Discipling the ‘Ordinary,’” continuing our quarter’s studies on “Discipleship.” Lessons are available by looking up ssnet.org online. The sermon will be presented by Rick Meyer. Sermons are posted on our website which can be located at sdavalleycenter.net. A fellowship meal will be served after the church service. Sunday there will be singing at 10 a.m. at the Villas Convalescent Center in Escondido. Wednesday is prayer meeting at 7, with supper at 6 p.m. We are studying the book The Desire of Ages on the life of Christ. All are invited.
