Hurricanes reschedule tryouts

March 06, 2014

With the rain washing out last weekend’s activities, the Valley Center Hurricanes have rescheduled their tryouts for this Saturday, March 8, from 3–5 p.m. at Valley Center Middle School.

The Hurricanes, Valley Center’s competitive youth soccer program, will hold its tryouts for the “younger” division on Saturday. Currently the Hurricanes have three boys teams in the “younger” division, the U14 team, the U12 team and the U10 team. There are also two girls teams: U 12 and U 13. For players older than 15 years of age, there will be tryouts for the older teams in April.

If you have a child who is interested in playing at the next level, and they are born between Sept. 1, 2000 and July 31, 2005, please consider having them come to tryouts.

Players attending tryouts need to bring water, cleats and shin guards, as well as a parent to sign the league waiver.

New teams will form at other age levels if there is enough interest.

The Hurricane program has been in existence for over 20 years and is currently run by volunteers. All coaches are licensed and risk-managed, and still the program operates at a fraction of the cost of virtually every other club in San Diego County.

Games and tournaments are played through the Presidio League, with most games and tournaments being played on Saturdays, and occasionally on Sunday from June through November.
