Sloman throws a two-hitter, Diefenbach drives in five runs in big softball win

Valley Center’s varsity softball team is finding its groove early in the season, as the Lady Jaguars have now won four in a row, including a big win in the last game.

The Lady Jags hosted Montgomery last Thursday and played an outstanding game in all phases to take a 12–0 win.

Senior picher Emma Sloman threw a complete game, two-hitter to get the win, striking out three in five innings of work.

At the plate, Kiana Diefenbach had two doubles, five RBIs and two runs scored to lead the offense, while Brie Dunckel and Leilani Diefenbach each had three hits, Moyla Devers and Jasmine Contreras each had a double, a single and an RBI, Maddie Boyer had a hit and an RBI, Sukie Turner had a hit and Nia Hutton had an RBI.

Valley Center has already played at El Camino on Tuesday. The Lady Jags play again on Thursday at home against Granite Hills at 4 p.m.
