Vote early for June 3 election

May 15, 2014

Early voting continues at the County Registrar of Voters Office at 5600 Overland Avenue in Kearny Mesa. Voters interested in casting early ballots for the Gubernatorial Primary Election can vote Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day. The office will also be open for voting on May 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mail ballots are a convenient way to vote. Instead of making a special trip to the Registrar of Voter’s office to cast a ballot or wait for the polls to open on election day. Registered voters have until May 27 to request a mail ballot.

This year, approximately 840,000 mail ballots were sent through the post office. Voters who receive mail ballots are urged to vote right away.

“If you know how you want to vote, grab that mail ballot when you get it, vote it, and send it back right away,” said Michael Vu, Registrar. “The sooner we get the ballot back, the sooner we can start processing it so it will be counted right when the polls close at 8 p.m. on June 3.”

The Registrar is still looking for poll workers, including bilingual poll workers. For more information, please visit or call (858) 565-5800.
