The Valley Center-Pauma Music Boosters sponsors the concert bringing together the community and six local performing groups for a night of music, fun, and even light dinner items that can be purchased, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Maxine Theater is at Valley Center High School, 31322 Cole Grade Road. Expect the full array of Christmas songs and cheer courtesy of the award-winning Valley Center Middle School Choir and Jazz Band along with the Valley Center High School choirs and bands.

Left Coast Engineering and RE/MAX United partially sponsored the event. This year’s theme, aside from the holidays, is continuing community music momentum generated most recently by the 11th annual free Veterans Day concert, according to Boosters.

“Each year we see incredible support for our Veterans Day annual concert, which allowed us to look at other ways to bring quality entertainment to the community with no cost and tremendous support, ” said Diane Conaway, Valley Center-Pauma Music Boosters president.

“These events are consistently filling the house,” Conaway continued, “allowing us to give back to the community and build awareness of the incredible talent we have in our students in Valley Center.”

For those wanting to get the jump on Christmas concert cheer, another free event happens Dec. 5 at the corner of Cole Grade Road by Pala Gas. A sneak peak at the music planned by the award-winning VCHS Marching Band and Color Guard for its showcase performance at the Disneyland Christmas Parade will take place.

The band and color guard need to raise $3,000 for transportation, so won’t turn down any donations during the sneak peak. Contributions not only are appreciated greatly, but are tax-deductible for those who qualify. Donations also may be mailed to P.O. Box 841, Valley Center, Ca. 92082.

The Valley Center-Pauma Music boosters itself is a non-profit group supporting music in Valley Center schools. Funds purchase and maintain hundreds of instruments and performance wear for more than 800 students in Grades 5-12.

Boosters has an annual $60,000 funding goal to take care of business and are challenging the community to get to $100,000 this year. For more information visit www.VCPMusicBoosters.org or call (760) 749-2888.
