Jill Marian Paolone, 73


Jill Marian Paolone passed away after a nine month battle with cancer on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 73 in Pauma Valley, California.  She is survived by her partner, Bradley Smith, her children, Dana and Nicholas, and her brothers, Paul Palumbo and Neil (Tammy) Palumbo.  She has many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss her laughter and kindness.  She is predeceased by her husband Nick, her parents Angelo and Beatrice (Jorey) Palumbo, and her sister Jean Marie.

Jill Marian Paolone was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York and lived and worked in that area for most of her life.  She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1964 and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Buffalo.  She taught French and Spanish for 26 years in the Niagara Falls school system and loved her travels to France, England, Spain, as well as to many destinations around the United States.  She was a very active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lewiston, NY and continued her committed church involvement at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Pauma Valley.  Her favorite activities included gardening, reading, and being a volunteer reading tutor at the Valley Center Elementary School.   

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at St. Francis’ Episcopal Church, 16608 CA-76, Pauma Valley,  at 10:30 am.  Contributions may be made to Episcopal Relief and Development or Feeding America.
