Kiwanis wants to improve the world ‘one child at a time’

The Valley Center Kiwanis Club is an organization focused on service for kids. Their motto is to improve the world “one child at a time.” They meet on Fridays at 7 a.m. in the Valley Center Library Community Room. Last Friday morning Kiwanis had their meeting where they gave out scholarships to four students at Valley Center High School.
These students were Madelynn Rutherford, Morgan Peyton, Abigail Colton, and Fredy Tomasantonio. After a brief introduction and the Pledge of Allegiance, the students were asked about themselves and their plans for the future.
Madelynn spoke about her plans for the future including wanting to become an elementary school teacher. Morgan spoke about pursuing a degree in speech pathology. Abigail spoke about going into the field of agriculture. And Fredy talked about pursuing a degree in criminal justice and becoming a lawyer.
