MOLLY’S COLUMN

This year has been an interesting journey and I have definitely learned a lot. I failed A LOT, and have learned how to pick myself back up from my failures. In my opinion it feels like the first day of 6th grade was just yesterday, and probably by the time that you are reading this I will be officially an 8th grader. Sadly, this is my last article for the year and I want to tell you what is going on in ‘my’ life.

First, the struggle is real, finding a bathing suit that fits both of my parent’s criteria is a very difficult task. One will be OK with my mom, but then I ask my dad and he shuts it down. Not trying to be rude or anything but modern day brands, sites, and people have a magical voice in their head saying, “let’s just create this bathing suit, it’ll be so skimpy and show everything off” and then we are left with little options. I wonder if the thought of modesty ever crossed the designer’s mind. It is tough being 13 when it is bathing suit season!

It is also ‘crunch’ time because the San Diego County Fair is less than 20 days away and I need to get my pigs and lamb dialed in. I am a little worried but I think that it will all come together. (P.S. the auction is on July 2 and starts at 10 a.m., if you’re looking for any meat give me a call at 760-519-1643. P.S.S. that is my mom’s cell because this 7th grader doesn’t have a phone.)

Now that I have that out of my system, I would like to thank all of my supporters, The Roadrunner and everyone who has helped me out this year. I really appreciate it and have definitely soaked it all in. Well, I can say that I have not really soaked in all that I have been preached this past year. I have simply just thought about it and wrote it down, but as many of you already know, I am nowhere near perfect and next year my promise to you is that I will stick to my word and if I am going to preach it I will definitely follow through. Next year my plan is to write more about my animals, passions, and school. I probably will need to print this out and hang it above my desk so I won’t forget.

I love you guys and have a safe and fun filled summer, enjoy it because we will only have this summer once.

This is Molly soaring off for the summer, see you in the Fall.
