Frank McCarron and Michelle Kobayashi of Papa T’s Pizza & Deli, now open at the Town Center Market.

After two years absence the July 4 weekend saw the return of Valley Center’s pizza man, Frank McCarron, who, with his partners opened Papa T’s Pizza & Deli at the Town Center Market.

“Sales are absolutely fantastic!” said McCarron this week.

McCarron serves up the classic “Tomato pie” style with the sauce on top that his friends have been pining away for. Made with pizza beer crust in a method that keeps the crust crisp, a method McCarron pioneered and then used to win a national award for pizza making in Las Vegas, the pies are also competitively priced.

“We don’t have any servers so we pass the price on to our customers,” Mc- Carron told The Roadrunner this week.

His partners include Tony & Lucy Mikhail and Nathan Mikhail, owners of the Town Center Market, which is located at the corner of Cole Grade & Valley Center Roads.

For the next two weeks Tony Mikhail will be donating $1 from each pizza to the Valley Center Middle School.

McCarron and Michelle Kobayashi will continue to operate “Frankaccino iced coffee” and Hawaiian shaved ice at their trailer parked next to Pala Vista Gas, also on the corner. During the summer the trailer is open Noon to 8 p.m. They also offer Peterson’s donuts when available.

To order one of McCarron’s “tomato pie” style pizzas, call 760-749- 7149.
