Principal issues statement on incident at VCHS

This afternoon there was an incident at Valley Center High School. The Roadrunner overheard a report of a student overdose and transportation. Sheriff’s deputies and first responders were dispatched to the high school in answer to a call from the school. The high school principal, Mark Hailwood issued the following statement around 2 p.m.

Good afternoon this is Mark Hailwood Principal of Valley Center High School.  Earlier this afternoon, towards the end of our student lunch, we took additional steps to secure our campus by having students move into their 5th period classrooms early while our staff addressed a concern on campus.  There was no threat to our school or students, but to ensure the matter could be addressed appropriately and in the safest manner we secured our school for a period of time and asked for all students to remain in their classrooms.  Valley Center High School has resumed all normal operations and we appreciate your help and support.

Would be nice if the principal also did something about the Special Ed. boy who has threatened to shoot students. How about addressing that threat to keep the students safer.
